Elon Musk was not on drugs last week, according to a drug test he posted on X early Tuesday with the comment "lol." The move followed a New York Times investigation last month that accused Musk of heavily using drugs including ketamine and ecstasy when he was on the campaign trail with President Trump last year. Last year, the Wall Street Journal reported on Musk's alleged drug use. Musk targeted both outlets in another post on X Tuesday, the Hill reports. "I hereby challenge the NYT and WSJ to take drug tests and publish the results! They won't, because those hypocrites are guilty as sin," he wrote.
Musk posted the results of a urine test analyzed by Fastest Labs of South Austin. It showed he tested negative for ketamine and many other drugs, though the results suggest he may be using the muscle-building compound creatine, New York reports. According to the test, the sample was collected on June 11, some 12 days after the Times report, People notes. The lab's website says "urine drug tests can detect drugs that have been ingested within the last 2-10 days."
"Elon Musk is continuing to lash out because he doesn't like our reporting," the Times said in a post on X in reply to Musk's drug test post. "Nothing that he's said or presented since our article about his drug use during the presidential campaign was published contradicts what we uncovered. We stand by our journalism."
