Crime | Whitey Bulger Whitey Bulger Hospitalized With Chest Pains Relatives of some victims think gangster is trying to stall trial By Evann Gastaldo Posted Nov 5, 2012 8:28 AM CST Copied This June 23, 2011 file booking photo provided by the US Marshals Service shows James "Whitey" Bulger, captured in June 2011 in Santa Monica, Calif. (AP Photo/U.S. Marshals Service, File) James "Whitey" Bulger, the Boston gangster who was finally captured last year after 16-plus years on the run, was rushed to the hospital early yesterday with chest pains, officials tell the Boston Globe. Little is known about Bulger's condition, but this is at least the second time he's been hospitalized over the past year, and the 83-year-old does take a beta blocker used for high blood pressure and blood flow problems. But some relatives of his alleged victims are unimpressed, and they've complained that he's using his health as an excuse to stall his trial. “I hope he’s all right because I want him to hang in there,” says the widow of a man Bulger is accused of gunning down. “I want him to go to trial. I think he has a lot to say, and I want to hear it.” Read These Next The Wall Street Journal is naming more names tied to Epstein. The White House and South Park are having a tiff.
