(AP Photo/Julie Jacobson, File) Another big NFL deal: Plaxico Burress, who served nearly two years in prison for possessing (and shooting himself with) an unlicensed gun, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Jets, the team announced today. Burress used to play on New York's other team—the Giants, with whom he won a Super Bowl in 2007—and it looked as if he might be headed back there until the Jets suddenly expressed interest yesterday, the New York Post reports. "East Coast here I come!" tweeted Burress; Jets QB Mark Sanchez replied welcoming him to the squad. According to ESPN, the deal is for $3.017 million; that seemingly random extra $17,000 acknowledges the number, 17, he used to wear with the Giants, notes the Post.
