Sports | Tiger Woods Tiger's Ex Caddie: 'I've Wasted Last 2 Years' Steve Williams unhappy his loyalty not returned By Mark Russell Posted Jul 22, 2011 9:00 AM CDT Copied This March 13, 2011, file photo shows Tiger Woods' caddie Steve Williams and Woods lining up a putt on the fourth hole during the final round at the Cadillac Championship golf tournament. (AP Photo/Lynne Sladky, File) Tiger Woods' freshly fired caddie is apparently rather miffed at his sudden sacking by the golf great. After 12 years, 250 tournaments, and 72 wins together, Steve Williams says he was "extremely disappointed" by the surprising turn of events. "I've wasted the last two years of my life because he's played infrequently, he's been injured, and played poorly," Williams tells the New Zealand Herald. "I was prepared to hang in there through thick and thin so I find the timing extraordinary." Williams said that their friendship, once quite close, has grown strained, and the two have not talked since Woods fired him two weeks ago. "I understand that's part of the game," said Williams. But "to be let go after staying incredibly loyal during the most difficult time in his life and then for him to decide that he needs a change, I think that the timing has been very poor."
