A-Rod's Agent Eyes Potential Free Agency

Alex Rodriguez hasn’t indicated if he will opt out his contract with the Yankees, but if he does his agent has ambitious plans. Scott Boras said in a radio interview he will tell suitors that A-Rod is the most valuable player in baseball history, will play until he is 45, and probably break the all-time homerun and hit records, reports ESPN.

Boras said that A-Rod is worth nearly $1 billion to a club’s television network and used the Yankees’ ratings, which have increased since his arrival, to prove his point. A-Rod has three years and $81 million left on his current contract but could probably earn more in free agency. He has until 10 days after the World Series to make a decision on whether to seek a new deal. (More Alex Rodriguez stories.)
