Bradley Cooper is the most recent celebrity to cause the world to say, “Pshaw!” with a claim of childhood ugliness. The heartthrob says, thanks to his bowl cut, he was constantly mistaken for a girl. The Frisky lists nine others with similarly sad stories:

  • Beyoncé: The singer claims she was “chubby and ugly” in her tween years, and that it sometimes took four family members to help her zip her pants.
  • George Clooney: Another victim of an unfortunate hairstyle—and truly awful glasses—Clooney was apparently afraid to talk to girls.

  • Eva Longoria: Her three blond-haired, blue-eyed sisters actually called her “ugly duckling.”
  • Ryan Seacrest: He was overweight and bullied as a kid…and The Frisky has a must-see picture to prove it.
  • Lil Jon: The rapper actually looks like famous nerd Steve Urkel in his senior portrait.
