(AP Photo/Gerald Herbert) (Associated Press) A spokeswoman for presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani is calling an appeal from private fundraisers for $9.11 donations “an unfortunate choice.” During tomorrow’s national house party night, top GOP rainmaker Abraham Sofaer will host an event aiming to net that telltale amount from attendees, the AP reports. The Reagan-era State Department figure says he didn’t devise the “$9.11 for Rudy” theme either, blaming it on “some young people who came up with it.” The invite refers to a “non-denominational, grassroots campaign” to “support ‘America’s Mayor.’” But the gimmick might be a tad creepy even for the self-proclaimed terrorist slayer.
