(AP Photo/CBS, Eike Schroter) Critics are impressed with The Good Wife, starring Julianna Margulies as the wife of a cheating and stealing politician forced to rejoin the workforce after his arrest. The CBS drama begins tonight. "There could not be a better choice for the title role of Alicia Florrick than Margulies," writes Barry Gordon for the Hollywood Reporter. "Through words spoken and unspoken, she paints a detailed, moving portrait of a woman whose largely private, well-ordered life is suddenly and publicly shattered." "Television dramas rarely do very well with the underbelly of politics," writes Alessandra Stanley for the New York Times. "The Good Wife takes its cue from real life, not just the headlines, and is all the better for it." "Margulies puts a powerful combination of cold fury, bewilderment and tenacity into Alicia Florrick," writes David Hinckley for the New York Daily News.
