Belongings Trickle Back to Flight 1549 Passengers

Over the past few weeks, items both practical and sentimental have been returned to the lucky passengers of Flight 1549, the New York Times reports. Even ruined belongings are packed carefully in tissue paper and dryer sheets. “It made a very emotional experience as positive as it could have been,” said one passenger aboard the flight that went down in the Hudson River in January.

Some things are missing, however: Reports from passengers indicate that coins, but not paper money, are being returned. “Like, yes, I traveled to New York with 16 cents on me,” said one who’s out $150. One man who was ecstatic to be reunited with car keys and the remote opener is still wondering about his “very expensive” leather jacket. (More Flight 1549 stories.)
