(AP Photo/Charles Dharapak) Ex-Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina had surgery yesterday in California after being diagnosed with breast cancer Feb. 20, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. “She's doing great," her chief of staff said. "She only just learned about this.” After a controversial stint at HP, Fiorina went on to advise John McCain’s presidential run and is considered a possible Republican contender for Barbara Boxer’s Senate seat. Fiorina is set to keep a low profile over the next few months as she undergoes chemotherapy. Then she’s expected to return “to all of the activities to which she is enthusiastically committed,” staff head Deborah Bowker noted, but Fiorina didn’t say whether that included a Senate bid. “I haven't made a decision yet,” she said soon after her diagnosis. “She's exploring a future in politics," Bowker noted.
