Conservative PAC Puts GOP Stimulus Backers 'On Notice'

So much for bipartisanship. A conservative political action committee is pledging to support primary challenges to the three Republican senators who backed the compromise economic stimulus package, CNN reports. It's the right wing’s latest public show of dissatisfaction with Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania.

"Republican senators are on notice," said the executive director of the National Republican Trust PAC. "The American people don't want this trillion-dollar political payoff that will just line the pockets of non-governmental organizations who supported Obama in the election." All three senators have said they may not sign the bill in its final form if new spending is added.
