Crime | Drew Peterson Drew Peterson Engaged Again Would-be wife No. 5 is also 23; but murder suspect is still married to missing No. 4, Stacy By Kevin Spak Posted Dec 17, 2008 11:00 AM CST Copied This undated file photo originally provided by her family shows Stacy Peterson, 23, of Bolingbrook, Ill., and her husband, Drew Peterson, 53, a police officer with the Bolingbrook Police Department. (AP Photo) Drew Peterson, whose wife Stacy has been missing since last year, wants to move on to bride No. 5, his lawyer tells the Chicago Sun-Times. “He proposed and she accepted,” Joel Brodsky says, though “I guess he’s got to get divorced.” Peterson doesn’t see the problem. “I was married to Kathleen when I was engaged to Stacy,” the ex-cop points out of wife No. 3—in whose unsolved 2004 murder he’s the lone suspect. Peterson’s new paramour is 23, as was Stacy when they married, and Peterson says he wants to keep her away from the media. “Last time I had a relationship, you guys screwed it up,” he said, referring to dalliances with a 22-year-old tanning salon worker.
