Actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni ended their high-profile legal fight on Monday, two weeks before what remained of the case was due in a federal courtroom. A joint statement by their lawyers announced a settlement, per the Hollywood Reporter, over Lively's claims of sexual harassment on a film set. "The end product—the movie It Ends With Us—is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life," the statement says. "Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors—and all survivors—is a goal that we stand behind." Terms were not disclosed.
The statement adds: "We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard." A judge threw out most of her case against Baldoni, who directed the film, and his production company Wayfarer a month ago. Baldoni, who denied the accusations, was not named as a defendant on the remaining claims, per People. His own defamation and extortion countersuit had been thrown out in June. Lively was expected to testify in the trial, which was due to begin with jury selection May 18 in New York.
