Game of Thrones fans came out in droves over the weekend to bid on more than 900 costumes, props, and other items from the series in an auction that raked in $21.1 million, the AP reports. The top-dollar item was the very thing the characters in the series vied for throughout its eight-season run: a replica of the Iron Throne, which sold for $1.49 million. Jon Snow's signature sword, Longclaw, wielded onscreen by Kit Harington, sold for $400,000 and his night's watch ensemble went for $337,500. Several cloaks and dresses worn by Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen and Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister sold for more than $100,000. Suits of armor also proved popular, especially when they included sought-after weapons. Jaime Lannister's black-leather armor ensemble fetched $275,000 and his Kingsguard armor—including his iconic Oathkeeper longsword—went for $212,500.

After eight seasons of the epic saga Game of Thrones, fans can now enter what may be a competition on par with the battle for the Iron Throne: an auction of prized memorabilia. Fans can bid on a slew of costumes, props, set pieces, and memorabilia from the hit show that ended in 2019. More than 2,000 items—including a melted version of the coveted Iron Throne—distributed across 900 lots will go on the auction block in October through Heritage Auctions. However, preliminary bids already are being accepted here.
- Starting bids range from $500 to $20,000 for items as iconic as Jaime Lannister's full suit of armor and sword to props as granular as prosthetic teeth used for the White Walkers.
