Famous Nudie Beach Under Fire

Sunbathers at one of the nation’s most famous nude beaches may be forced to put their clothes on, the AP reports. South Cove in Vermont is considered destination traveling for nudists, but locals are petitioning for a town ordinance against nudity. “It’s about common public decency,” said one petitioner. Nudists shouldn't "prance around like a puffed up chicken in front of my kids and think it's OK."

Nudists say the beach is established and accepted. Past efforts to clothe the bathers have failed, with the town concluding that a ban was unenforceable. “We all have our personal feelings about it. I just don't go down there,” said one resident. “Most of them are fat old men like me. Who wants to see them?”
