(AP Photo/Rick Scuteri, File) From a rough childhood—including a stint when she was homeless—to a seat in the US Senate, Kyrsten Sinema has long exhibited nerves of steel. The 42-year-old's latest feat is completing the New Zealand Ironman, and in so doing she beat her personal best time in the grueling triathlon. The Arizona Republic reports she clocked in at the finish line with a 12:59:57 final, leaving her 15-hour-plus finishes in the 2013 Arizona Ironman and 2015 Ironman World Championships in the dust. Per KTAR, Sinema was running the Kiwi version of the race as part of the Women for Tri initiative. Sinema sits on the advisory committee for the program, which promotes women taking part in triathlons. After her latest accomplishment, Sinema noted on Twitter that she "briefly collapsed."
