A University of California-Berkeley senior was fatally stabbed after an ugly screaming match outside a sorority house, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. It wasn't immediately clear what the fight was about. A student who attends Berkeley City College and was seen tossing away a bloodied knife has confessed to the crime, according to police. Victim Christopher Wootton, a 21-year-old engineering honors student, had boasted of an earlier fraternity house fight on his MySpace page.
"It was some guy being belligerent and wanting to fight for no reason," said a friend. Wootton "was a happy, fun-loving guy and serious when he needed to be. He was out there because he worried about his friends." (More crime stories.)
