It might be one of the easiest police chases in the books. Police in West Jordan, Utah, say a motorcyclist took off during a routine traffic stop, and the officer involved started following him briefly before cutting off the chase, reports News4Utah. The motorcyclist identified as Brandon Briggs, 38, may have thought he'd gotten away scot-free, but not so. It turns out the officer had recognized him, so police simply went to Briggs' house, where they arrested him upon his return about an hour later, reports Fox 13.
When Briggs showed up at his home, he was actually on foot. Police then found the crashed motorcycle nearby, and it turned out to be stolen. Briggs is now being held on three felony charges: possession of a stolen vehicle, failure to stop at the command of an officer, and violation of parole or probation. The original traffic stop took place because the motorcycle didn't have proper tags. (More weird crimes stories.)
