The Republican senator says he's introducing a bipartisan bill that will subject any firing of a special counsel investigating a president—including a possible firing of Robert Mueller by President Trump—to judicial review. "We need a check and balance here," CNN quotes Graham as saying. Graham says he's "100% behind" Sessions and that "there will be holy hell to pay" if Trump fires him. Graham says Trump needs to stop trying to "marginalize and humiliate" Sessions or simply fire him and "accept the consequences."
