US | Ohio Cop Allegedly Joked About Black Lives Matter Suicide Lee Cyr is now on leave By Evann Gastaldo Posted Feb 12, 2016 2:23 PM CST Copied In this Nov. 6, 2007 file photo, the Facebook logo is displayed at a Facebook announcement in New York. (AP Photo/Craig Ruttle, File) An Ohio police officer is in hot water after an ill-advised Facebook comment he allegedly posted this week. Lee Cyr allegedly wrote "Love a happy ending" in the comments section of an Ohio Politics post about a Black Lives Matter activist committing suicide, though the comment has apparently since been deleted. The police department has placed Cyr on paid administrative leave and is investigating, the Dayton Daily News reports. Though Cyr allegedly posted the comment while off-duty, if he is determined to be the person who wrote it, he will have violated the department's social media policy, which bars officers from posts that "may discredit the police department."
