George Mason beat William & Mary 68-59 in the Colonial Athletic Association tournament final, advancing to the NCAA tourney. Two years after their incredible run to the Final Four, the Patriots crushed the Tribe’s own CAA Cinderella run. William & Mary, only 14-15 in the regular season, got to the tournament finals by winning its three previous games in the final seconds, reports the Associated Press.

Folarin Campbell led the Patriots with 20 points, and Will Thomas scored 18 of his own and pulled down 13 rebounds. George Mason’s suffocating defense held William & Mary to 38 percent shooting from the floor, including 9-of-29 from 3-point land. Laimis Kisielius led the Tribe with 22 points; he also had five rebounds and three assists. (More basketball stories.)
