Celebrity | Ellen DeGeneres Ellen DeGeneres Takes Epic Selfie, Orders Oscars Pizza Memorable Academy Awards moments By Evann Gastaldo Posted Mar 2, 2014 9:43 PM CST Updated Mar 2, 2014 10:34 PM CST Copied Ellen DeGeneres stands in the audience next to Martin Scorsese during the Oscars at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday, March 2, 2014, in Los Angeles. She took a poll of the audience, asking who else was starving and would be up for some pizza. Kerry Washington was first to raise her hand—and when the pizza eventually came, Ellen noted, "Kerry Washington is pregnant. She needs some." She then called on Harvey Weinstein to tip the delivery guy: "No pressure, just one billion people watching. Do whatever you feel is right." (And yes, it was a real delivery guy, not an actor, ABC News reports.) Later, she passed around Pharrell Williams' hat and collected quite a bit of cash from the audience to pay for it. As for that selfie, see it here. DeGeneres managed to cram at least 11 other stars into the picture. Her goal was to set a retweet record and it appears she did—the record was somewhere around 500,000, according to Mediaite, and Ellen's selfie has already hit more than a million. "We broke Twitter," DeGeneres announced when she took the stage later. More interested in the awards? Click to see who won. Read These Next Minneapolis shooter had a plan—and grievances.
