Forlorn Boston keepers Alex Auld and Tim Thomas combined to stop just 16 of Montreal's 24 shots, including two goals by Andrei Kostitsyn. Other Canadian teams were not so lucky: Ottawa continued its recent run of mediocrity, falling 5-3 to Florida, whose goalie Tomas Vokoun stopped 43 shots. On the other side of the state, Brad St. Louis (three points) and Tampa Bay edged past Edmonton, 4-3, to stop a five-game home skid.
