(AP Photo/HBO, Nick Briggs) If just watching Game of Thrones isn't enough to slake your thirst for fantasy, now you can drink it, too. The series has partnered with New York state's Brewery Ommegang to create a series of show-inspired beers, the Los Angeles Times reports. First up: Iron Throne Blonde Ale, which is hitting stores this week in advance of the March 31 third-season premiere. It'll be available on draft and in bottles with a suggested retail price of $8.50 for a 750ml bottle. Whitney Matheson, writing for USA Today, "found it pleasantly surprising" and akin to a Chimay Triple. Matheson quips that she would have expected a Game of Thrones beer to "be something dark and intense," and the Huffington Post explains why that isn't the case. The inaugural beer is a nod to the scheming House Lannister, and a blonde ale was selected because it matches the Lannisters' hair color. Meanwhile, BeerPulse "sleuthed out" an HBO alcoholic-beverage filing for "Take the Black," leading it to believe "Ommegang may go to the dark side for the next beer in the series."
