Politics | Bob Menendez Menendez Took Another Dominican Flight: Report Anonymous sources say donor gave him at least one more ride than he's admitted By Kevin Spak Posted Feb 12, 2013 2:17 PM CST Copied Sen. Sources are telling Fox News that the New Jersey Democrat took at least one more trip to the Dominican Republic on a campaign donor's private plane than he has publicly admitted. The sources say Salomon Melgen flew Menendez there in 2008 for a charity golf tournament, and put him up in his Casa de Campo villa. "He was on the doc's jet in 2008—that I guarantee," says one source who attended the tournament. Menendez didn't list that trip on his annual disclosure forms. Depending on how the flight was paid for, that might not be a problem legally, but it does contradict the senator's previous statement that he flew on Melgen's plane only in 2010.
