Politics | John Kerry Senate Committee Approves Kerry for State Gig He'll go before the full Senate later today By Kevin Spak Posted Jan 29, 2013 9:45 AM CST Copied John Kerry sits before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which he has served on for 28 years and led for the past four, during his confirmation hearing, on Capitol Hill, Jan. 24, 2013. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite) The Senate Foreign Relations Committee surprised exactly no one today by putting its seal of approval on John Kerry's nomination for secretary of State nomination. Instead, the voice vote passed without opposition, the AP reports. The full Senate will vote on Kerry's bid later this afternoon. Read These Next Trump says Iran has sent the US a 'very big present.'
