Apparently the public's love of Pippa Middleton's rear end wasn't enough to catapult her new party-planning book to success. Celebrate sold just about 2,000 copies in its first week, and is currently 177th on Amazon.com's UK best-sellers list—right below something called Peppa Pig's Christmas Wish, the Telegraph reports. The book, for which Middleton was paid an advance of more than $635,000, ranks 303rd on the list of US best-sellers.

How could this happen, considering Pippa's popularity and the "massive publicity campaign" that the Telegraph notes surrounded the book? Apparently Celebrate, which is now selling for half-off the cover price, is just plain terrible. Some of the not-so-brilliant tips it includes:

  • "Because of their size, turkeys are perfect for feeding larger gatherings."
  • "Store cupboards, drawers, or boxes should be packed full of useful odds and ends."
