Elizabeth Warren Still Tied in Polls With Scott Brown

Elizabeth Warren may be taking flak for her handling of questions over her claims to Native American ancestry, but the issue doesn't seem to have hurt her much in the polls. She and Scott Brown are effectively tied in the latest Boston Globe survey, just as they were in March. Another test comes later today at the state's Democratic convention. Warren is sure to win her party's backing, but she hopes to get a super-majority of votes that would make a primary unnecessary, notes the Globe.

Despite the overall good results for Warren in the poll (she trails by only 39% to 37%), the newspaper notes a few potential trouble spots for her: About 1 in 3 independent voters in Massachusetts say the Native American issue makes them less likely to vote for her, and the percentage of those who view her unfavorably rose nine points to 32%.
