Southern Illinois rode the scoring wave that is Bryan Mullins to a surprise 71-56 victory over a newly ranked St. Mary's team last night, reports the Southern Illinoisan. The junior point guard put up a career-best 24 points and five assists while going 7-for-7 from the line, helping his team take down the undefeated Gaels.

"For the first time in a couple weeks, we had a lot of fun playing the game again," Mullins said, referring to the Salukis' three consecutive losses leading up to last night's game. The rest of his team contributed as well, pulling in 20 offensive rebounds and giving up just 15 turnovers. (More WCC stories.)
