The Flyers, who lost all 8 games to the Penguins last year, enacted a measure of revenge as they defeated Pittsburgh 3-1 last night.  A lineup change brought an early lead and the Flyers never looked back.

Elsewhere in the league:

  • The Bruins offensive woes continued as they fell 2-1 to the Sabres in overtime.  Though the Bruins' defense is much improved they've been unable to get their offense on track.
  • The Lightning ended their 6-game skid with a 3-1 win over the in-state rival Panthers.
  • The Blackhawks defeated the Blue Jackets to snap a 3-game losing streak.
