Politics | Christine O'Donnell Christine O'Donnell's Dad: Bozo the Clown Delaware candidate gives rare interview to mainstream media By John Johnson Posted Oct 2, 2010 10:47 AM CDT Copied Christine O'Donnell addresses supporters during a rally, Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at her new campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Del. (AP) The New York Times scores a rare interview with Christine O'Donnell, which doesn't result in substantive news but does provide some nuggets: Her dad, Daniel, "worked a series of small television roles before scoring his signature gig—playing Bozo the Clown." (No further details on that; Larry Harmon was the main guy, but several men played Bozo.) She denies fudging her education record: “I was never dishonest about my education. Whether someone put it there to call me a liar, whatever.” She is "currently accepting applications for a husband." Her lesbian sister, Jennie, is unconcerned about O'Donnell's view that homosexuals have an "identity disorder." Says Jennie: "Blood is thicker than politics." O'Donnell says used to be liberal until about age 21, when a friend showed her graphic photos of an abortion. It caused her to rethink all her views and eventually shift rightward. Before that shift: “I by no means was a slut. But by no means did I have the moral code I have now.” Click here for the full interview by Mark Leibovich.
